An empathetic and thoughtful practitioner, Maya takes a holistic approach to the health of her patients, helping them get to the root of their body’s disharmony. Could it be that your neck tension, sluggish bowels, skin break outs, awful periods and flat moods are all rooted in the same disharmony? Is your daily diet and lifestyle hindering or helping you to thrive in your life according to your constitution? With her approach, Maya works not only to resolve your ailments, but also helps you understand why they came about in the first place, empowering you to take back control of your health and together achieving lasting results and implementing sustainable changes in your life.
In addition to her 5 year undergraduate university degree at Southern School of Natural Therapies, Maya also underwent thousands of hours of clinical observation. She has worked with a variety of mentors across all fields of Chinese Medicine including women’s health and fertility, integrative medicine and cosmetic facial acupuncture.
She has also traced the medicine back to its origin, spending time in Nanjing, China with Dr Wang . More recently, Maya also volunteered her skills in the Bajrabarahi region of Nepal, with the Acupuncture Relief Project providing frontline health care services to residents of rural areas who would have otherwise gone without medical care. She also volunteered her skills in Lebanon in 2023 and worked abroad in France throughout 2024. Now back on Australian soil, Maya is thrilled to be back in the clinic and seeing some familiar faces once again!
Maya considers herself to be a General Practitioner of Chinese medicine and acupuncture. She does however have a keen interest in the areas of menstrual health, male and female natural fertility and IVF, pregnancy and post-partum support, menopause, seasonal allergies, dermatology, cosmetic facial acupuncture, digestive health, as well as mental and emotional wellbeing.
